Who we are

First Choice Logistics provides international shipping services from North America — vehicles, containers, household goods and commercial freight. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to quote for and carry out a shipment:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number and company name, when you submit an enquiry or quote request.
  • Shipment details — cargo information (for vehicles, including the VIN), pickup location, destination and receiver details.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type and pages visited, used to keep the site secure and to understand how it is used.

Why we use it

  • To prepare quotes and carry out shipping services you have asked for.
  • To meet customs, export and carrier documentation requirements.
  • To contact you about a shipment in progress.
  • To send marketing emails — only where you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe from any of them.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary to move your cargo: ocean carriers (such as MSC, Maersk and ZIM), customs authorities, and the transport and warehouse partners handling your cargo. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.

How long we keep it

Shipment and financial records are kept for seven years, which is the retention period required for Canadian tax and customs purposes. Enquiries that do not become shipments are kept for two years, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. You can also withdraw marketing consent at any time. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-controlled servers. Credentials are hashed, and API keys are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and design accordingly.
